LotzArt Community Connect is an innovative, user-friendly digital platform that enables anyone to access real-time, location-specific information through WhatsApp – without needing to download an app, register, or navigate complex websites.
This flexible system can be used across sectors – from social services, cultural programming, and youth engagement to sustainability, healthcare, and education.
At its core, LotzArt empowers local actors to manage content easily through a dedicated backend while delivering trusted, relevant updates to users in a low-barrier, familiar way.

📍 Manchester: A pilot for impact
The platform was piloted in Longsight, Manchester, as part of the EU-funded CommuniCity project. This neighbourhood was chosen for its cultural diversity, strong VCSE networks, and urgent need for accessible support information about essential resources, such as food banks, employment help, and housing support.
Working closely with Manchester City Council, grassroots VCSEs (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations), and local leaders, the platform was co-created to meet real-world needs:
- 3 co-creation sessions
- 25+ representatives from marginalised groups
- Live testing with feedback directly shaping feature updates

This pilot demonstrated how LotzArt can strengthen community trust, reduce digital exclusion, and serve as a blueprint for city-wide or cross-sector expansion.
